Grating Coating
After the manufacturing process, grating (mesh panels) may require protective coatings depending on the operating conditions and customer requirements. Common grating coatings include hot-dip galvanizing, low-density polyethylene (LDPE) coating, and paint coating.
The main purpose of grating coating is to reduce corrosion, increase service life, and improve the durability of the product. In addition, coatings can also be applied to enhance the appearance of grating systems.
The most widely used and effective coating for grating is hot-dip galvanizing. This type of grating coating is performed according to the ASTM A123 standard.
Hot-dip galvanizing involves applying a protective zinc layer to the steel surface to prevent corrosion and provide higher resistance against environmental and weather conditions. In this process, the steel grating is immersed in a molten zinc bath at a temperature of approximately 860°F.
